History of Dorsey — Durability First

For 100+ years, Dorsey has focused on building durable, real-world trailers. Born in Elba, Alabama its craftspeople and dealer network helped make Dorsey one of the fastest-growing platform manufacturers in the U.S.

1911: Founded in a converted livery stable by Pete & Henry Dorsey -- from repairing timber equipment to building their own.
1920: Expanded facility; producing 25-30 logging units per day.
1930: Launded first commercial freight trailers. Sales rose even through the Depression, and "Dorsey" became synonymous with durability and safety.
